Today is the day!

Posted in Life at 8:28 am by Liz

After lots of planning, lots of shots, and lots of packing………..I’m finally ready to start on my adventure to Africa.  I will be gone from January 26th-February 27th.  I’m so excited about what the coming month holds.

During the month, I won’t be able to return emails consistantly but will be reading and replying to emails when I return.  I will be setting up consultations for weddings and portrait sessions starting the first week of March so definitely email me to reserve a date and time!

I can’t wait to start on my journey and am already excited about sharing photographs and stories when I return.

Thank you to everyone for the love and support!  You’re awesome!

Julia and Chris – Centreville, Virginia

Posted in Photography, Wedding Photography at 8:53 am by Liz

Last night was our first wedding of 2010!  What a FANTASTIC start!  Nancy and I were so excited to kick off 2010 by being part of Julia and Chris’ wedding day.  I first met Julia and Chris last spring when we did their engagement pictures (with their awesome dog, Truth) at Occoquan Regional Park.  I have been looking forward to their wedding ever since.  Julia and Chris are an amazing couple and it was so fun seeing the love and support surrounding them from family and friends throughout the day.  Congratulations Julia and Chris!!!  Enjoy your tropical honeymoon this week!

Erin and Adam – Trash the Dress!

Posted in Photography, Portrait Photography at 7:04 am by Liz

Yesterday afternoon was PERFECT for Erin and Adam’s Trash the Dress session in Shepherdstown, WV.  I absolutely love Shepherdstown because of how unique, historic, local, artistic, and organically wonderful it is.  We walked the area and got lots of beautiful street shots and surprised lots of shop owners by asking to use their shops for part of our shoot.

A special thanks or Traci (better known as Anika’s mom – one of my students’ moms from last year) for the awesome information she emailed me about the local shops prior to our shoot.  She truly is the EXPERT!

The countdown is on…

Posted in Life at 10:42 am by Liz

As of today, it is only eight days until I leave for Africa!  Ahh!  I have all of my lists for packing but have not actually started packing yet – that is what this week is for (and that is why Jason is spending most of this week at home to help me through the insanity)!  After quite an ordeal, I have my visa so as far as paperwork is concerned, I’m ready to go!

I had meetings all weekend to finalize plans for some 2010 fall weddings and initial meetings for 2011 weddings.  Today my college roommates are coming to visit (always fun!) and I have a trash the dress shoot in Shepherdstown later this afternoon (to be blogged about tomorrow).

By the end of the week, I will post more information for setting up portrait sessions and wedding consultations starting the first weekend in March.  I’m already SO excited about the 2010 wedding year (with the first ‘10 wedding this coming weekend) and am getting excited about the 2011 couples with whom I am now meeting.  Yay!

I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekend! :)

Ellie

Posted in Photography, Portrait Photography at 8:15 am by Liz

This past weekend, Jason and I spent the weekend in Virginia to celebrate his big 28th birthday with friends and family.  While we were down there, it was the perfect opportunity to take Ellie’s annual pictures.  Ellie is now three years old and each year, I’ve had such a fun time doing her pictures.  This year, we played piano together, had a tea party, danced around the house, played soccer in the backyard, and threw snow at each other.  It has been SO fun watching Ellie grow up!  She is so full of life and love.  I can’t wait for next year!

Colleen and Patrick – E-pics!

Posted in Photography, Portrait Photography at 3:33 pm by Liz

After rescheduling before the holidays due to rain and then the snow, we were determined to do the engagement session despite the cold and wind this weekend.  I met Colleen and Patrick in downtown Frederick where we ducked into nooks to avoid the wind gusts and jump out in the open between the gusts.  Congratulations Colleen and Patrick!
