This past Sunday, my assistant, Nancy, and I took advantage of the gorgeous fall weather and did several photo shoots at Occoquan Regional Park. Nancy has been a welcome addition to Hough Photography this year as a 2nd photographer and now she is beginning to do shoots on her own.
Here is a quick look at what we did this past weekend (more to come)…

This past Sunday morning, I met Andrea and Blair for their late morning wedding and brunch. For the first time all weekend, the sun peeked out even though it was still chilly outside. The day was so exciting! It was a small group but wonderful to watch family and friends come together to celebrate such a beautiful union. I did my first vineyard wedding a few months ago and absolutely fell in love with the location (and it’s great being so close to home). Congratulations, Andrea and Blair!

On Friday, I photographed Kim and Travis’ wedding. What a great event. Because of the rain and cold, their ceremony was moved into the tent but the candles illuminated the tent beautifully and made the ceremony every bit as wonderful as it would have been outside if not moreso. Congratulations, Kim and Travis!

This past weekend, Maria braved the cold fall weather we had so we could do her bridal shoot. We were able to capture some of the beautiful colors the mid-October leaves provide and move around enough that the cold wasn’t TOO bad! It was nice to run home right after and get warmed up, though! I can’t wait for the New Year’s Eve wedding . Jason and I will be shooting it together! Go Team Hough!

On Sunday, my assistant’s daughter got married!! SO fun! I met the Zooks in Centreville as they got ready then we headed to Burke Lake Park for pictures before the ceremony and reception at The Waterford. The entire day was filled with love, laughter, excitement, and lots of surprises along the way! Congratulations Lauren and Tom!! I hope you are enjoying the warm and tropical weather!

Look at Lauren’s face – priceless….here comes the train…

Tom is a firefighter so we had some fun with it.

Quick stop at Cheesecake Factory…

I was so excited that this weekend was finally Amber and Michael’s wedding! I did their engagement session in Baltimore a few months ago and had so much fun. Friday night, I met them at Brewer’s Alley for their rehearsal dinner after sneaking a few pictures that afternoon at their actual rehearsal. Saturday morning was looking gloomy but by the time it was wedding time, the skies had cleared for a beautiful, but chilly, afternoon/evening. I had so much fun – congratulations, Amber and Michael!!

Last week, I drove out to Baltimore to meet up with the Riesenfeld family. Karin was my roommate though college and the Riesenfelds took me under their wing during our four years at Mary Wash. As is always the case, kids rule photo shoots so Eric’s kids got most of the attention but with family visiting from California, we also got a lot of fun group shots. It was fun seeing everyone!

This weekend has been busy! I had a rehearsal dinner on Friday night, wedding at Stone Manor on Saturday, and wedding in Northern Virginia on Sunday (my assistant’s daughter!). While I was running around the house between shoots and neglecting my dogs, I snapped one picture of Leia, my oldest dog. Kona, the baby, usually gets all the attention so we’re trying harder to make Leia feel loved. Tomorrow is Kona’s birthday though…

I spent the last week in Asheville, NC hiking, meeting artists, and most importantly – prepping for Sabrina and Rick’s wedding. All week, we were checking the weather for Saturday. What started as a rainy forecast in the beginning of the week turned into the most gorgeous fall day by the time Saturday actually rolled around. It was absolutely perfect up on Miller Mountain for their wedding.
I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves but I had such a great time. Congratulations Sabrina and Rick! I hope Greece is AMAZING!
We started with a COLD afternoon for the rehearsal…

The girls got ready in this awesome loft in downtown Asheville…

Then I met up with the guys at the cabin followed by time with the girls and then onto the ceremony and reception!
