I met Amy and Anthony at Culler Lake in Frederick this evening for the engagement session. This is where the two began their relationship so it was the perfect spot to grab some fun shots. I so enjoyed meeting both of you!!

This afternoon, I hung out with the kids at Grandma and Grandpa’s pool. The hope (Theresa’s and my hope…) is to one day have a more upscale, permanent swimming hole but for now, we will settle. We’re still working on the tenants of the property (our parents!). These pictures are all about Elijah this time. He was LOVING his time in (and out) of the pool. So fun to watch!

After our Sunday family lunch and playing with Elijah and Ciana in the backyard pool, I had an afternoon of work to do but during one of my trips downstairs, snapped this shot of Jason and our photogenic, spirited dog, Kona enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon together. Leia, our other loner dog, was lounging in her sun spot and was not in the mood for a picture…

This is going to be a mega-blog! There is no way to encompass the weekend with Jen and Lou without lots of pictures and lots of thoughts. What an amazing weekend! Someone asked me this weekend if I was friends of Jen and Lou’s and my immediate response was “yes”…then I thought, hmm, well I wasn’t friends with them before wedding planning began but since then, we’ve spent a lot of time together between engagement pictures, Jen’s bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner, and the WEDDING. Jen and Lou are such great people – I’d be happy to consider us friends. I’m going to blog in three sections: The Scene, The Rehearsal, and The Wedding. Black Ankle is a gorgeous location and I completely fell in love with it Friday when I drove in only to find more nooks on Saturday. My assistant and I agreed we would be coming back to spend a day or two there with some of my models (if you are game, there’s always room for more!). So here we go….
The Scene!

I LOVE this silo…

Rain AND and rainbow – definitely good luck!

This is one of my favorite bouquet pictures ever – can’t beat a bouquet in a sculpture!

The Rehearsal!

Jen’s dad is a wildlife photographer and leaves for Germany on Monday for two weeks to photograph – awesome!

Lou’s sister is also a photographer who lives in New York. Love it!

I’m not going to deny it – these kids became my buddies this weekend and kind of stole the show at the rehearsal…

The Wedding!

I told Jason this is my photo commentary on marriage…

Congratulations Jen and Lou!!

I met the Murphy family this past week in Chevy Chase for some fun pictures. We had an awesome morning and were definitely blessed with a little bit of cool weather for running around part of the golf course with the kids. What a fun family!! I had a great time meeting everyone and it’s always so energizing spending time with kids who are so full of life.

Last weekend, I helped to celebrate Francie’s Bat Mitzvah. Despite the rainy weather, everyone enjoyed a wonderful afternoon following a fantastic morning. I met Francie before her Bat Mitzvah for a few pictures and then joined the family at the reception that afternoon. Congratulations, Francie!!

Earlier in the week, I got the chance to visit with one of the great Lucy School families and take tribute-to-Woodstock pictures of the kids. We had a lot of fun and of course, Carlton and Pearl hammed it up for the camera. The older boys joined in after awhile. “Peace on Earth” – perfect saying for these pictures that will be used as this year’s Christmas card!

Last night, I finally met up with Kim and Travis! We scheduled our shoot for about a month ago but between summer storms and Kim beginning the school year, our shoot was put off until now. This was definitely a blessing in disguise because we ended up with the most BEAUTIFUL evening! When I arrived, Kim told me that they were both nervous but they fell into the fun of the shoot right away and did great! I can’t wait until October for the wedding!

This past weekend, I spent the day with Mary and Alex at Black Horse Inn in Warrenton, Virginia. What an amazing place! It was an incredibly hot day so we ran out for short photo sessions before the afternoon ceremony. Mary and Alex were surrounded by friends and family who were definitely ready to have a good time. Great night! Congratulations, Mary and Alex!!

I got to spend this afternoon with one of my FAVORITE school families! I taught Sam in kindergarten last year and as the spring progressed, Sam gave us daily pool construction updates during morning meeting so to finally see it was amazing! What a fantastic backyard getaway!
What a fun afternoon with fun people. Happy birthday early, Sam!
