I met Brooke and Paul months ago for the engagement session. We spent some time in Myersville at now one of my favorite parks and then went on an adventure to the secluded spot they got engaged.
My day with Brooke and Paul started Saturday morning at the salon. Brooke and her mom are both hair sylists. Brooke spent the morning doing her bridesmaids hair and I met her in time to snap some pictures when it was her turn for hair and makeup. After a quick bite to eat, the girls were ready for an afternoon of excitement and love. We had a lot of fun at Brooke’s house before the ceremony, shared in a beautiful and peaceful ceremony, and fun reception.
Congratulations, Brooke and Paul!!
Megan, the flower girl, had dress rehearsal for her dance recital the morning of the wedding…

I loved the energy … I could feel it as soon as I arrived at the salon in the morning. This was the best way to show it…

Paul with his best man … words of advice …

I followed very stringent church rules to keep the ceremony sacred. I snapped a couple pictures in the beginning and stole a couple during (quietly from the back)

I love the calmness of this picture…

Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening celebrating the union of Theresa and Brian (Theresa calls him Sherman…) at Ski Liberty in Pennsylvania. I grew up with Theresa and met Sherman last fall when we met at Gambrill State Park for their engagement session. Yesterday was such a gorgeous day! My assistant, Nancy, and I had a fantastic time. Thanks to the bridal party for being open to our crazy ideas…
Congratulations Theresa and Sherm! We hope you have an incredible time in Aruba!

This was Theresa’s mom’s garter … so special!

Everyone had bubbles for the end of the ceremony…

At first, everyone was tentative when we said “climb!” but by the time everyone chose a boulder, the ongoing discussion was how many facebook profile pictures this image would be by next week…

Last week, I went up the street to Middletown Park to meet up with Cathy, my aunt, and Matthew, my cousin. We scheduled this last minute to get some pictures of Matthew before his sister came along (2 days later…). We lucked out with a great day and had some fun. Matthew, like many three-year-olds, thought it would be funny to have me chase him the whole time and really earn my shots. Kids don’t realize I’m up for the challenge…

Last night, while at Christine and Bobby’s wedding, I knew I wanted to take a minute to grab a shot of the vineyard. I had been talking about the vineyard last week so I literally ran over to it as the storm was approaching, playing with what I assumed the camera would need as far as settings for the lighting on that side of the property, snapped a shot, and ran back. It was well worth the effort. Here is the future vineyard of Middletown. We are SO excited to watch this vineyard grow and be part of the first seasons of cultivation!

Yesterday, I spent the day celebrating with Christine and Bobby – and their family and friends. Christine and Bobby were married at Stone Manor in Middletown – a phenomenal venue! I met Christine almost a year ago when, during our consultation, we realized we both had just bought our childhood homes from our parents. What a connection. Not long after, I met up with Christine and Bobby in Baker Park for the engagement session. I knew this would be a fantastic wedding! Despite the pending storm (that eventually hit RIGHT when we were running inside after portraits), the atmosphere was full of excitement and love. Congratulations, Christine and Bobby!! I hope you have a fantastic time on your honeymoon.

Last minute giggles with Mom…love it.

One of my favorite parts to watch during ceremonies is the exchange from Dad to husband. It’s such a special moment.

I think this might be my favorite shot of the night…

On Saturday, I went to my good friends’ house in Bethesda to take pictures of lots of great families. Rachel and Tim have a nine-month-old named Jonah so they decided to host a Portrait Party and invite their friends over to hang out while I took each family for thirty minutes to grab some fun shots. I will be posting lots of pictures from this tomorrow but wanted to give a preview of one of the children. Such adorable kids!
