Spring is coming…

Posted in Life at 9:21 pm by Liz

I am definitely getting spring fever!  I love this weather and hope winter is now behind us.  I even noticed the buds of a few of our flowers popping up today which is promising.  This is a perfect time of year for children’s portraits and getting a new family portrait done that you have been meaning to get around to!

Yesterday, Jason and I went on an 18 mile bike ride through back roads in Fredericksburg and we passed a miniature horse farm!!!!!!  Who knew?!  They were SO cute!  I was wishing I had brought my camera along but honestly, any extra weight could have made me topple off my road bike.  I’m still new to it – running is so much easier!

We had a pretty lazy couple of hours before heading up the road to have dinner with Jason’s family so I followed our puppies around and took some pictures.  My mother-in-law’s work is having a contest for cutest pet pictures so I am working on that.  She works at a beauty supply shop so the winner receives $100 toward Paul Mitchell products since it’s a Paul Mitchell contest.  My thought is that I am going to throw the puppies in the bathtub tomorrow and lather their shampoo up on top of their heads and have one of them hold the Paul Mitchell puppy shampoo bottle in their mouth.  Clearly, I don’t have enough on my mind right now…

Anyway – here are some pictures of the “kids” from yesterday:

Spending Time…

Posted in Photography at 11:57 am by Liz

Last night, I was given the opportunity to be part of something wonderful.  In Richmond, a benefit was held to raise research money for Rett Syndrome.  Between the awesome buffet, heart warming concert by Kevin Black, Clint Black’s brother, and heroic auction donations, $230,000 was raised!  Simply amazing.  The families involved in hosting this event along with the incredible giving of donations from local and distant businesses, companies, and individuals made last night a night that will be forever imprinted on my heart.  Thank you to all involved – and thank you for allowing me to be a part of the evening.
