Rachel & Kent’s E-pics

Posted in Photography, Portrait Photography at 3:36 pm by Liz

This past Friday afternoon, I met up with Rachel and Kent at the Mary Wash campus in Fredericksburg to do their E-pics in preparation for their August ‘08 wedding.  I was so looking forward to this photo shoot because my husband and I ran with both of them in college.  It was exciting to hear when they got engaged and even more exciting when they asked me to be their photographer!  Even though it was cold outside and everything was noteably dead, we walked through campus (dragging Kent) and got some great pictures.

Have a safe trip back to Boston, guys, and see you in August!!

Catching up on odds & ends

So I realized I just had to share a few of the presents I received for Christmas this year.  My in-laws got me a Shoot Sac which is now my first love (behind Jason and Leia, of course).  It is an awesome bag that holds a ton of lenses and extras that I carry with me to every photo shoot – while still being easy to manage and stylish!

These can be found at www.shootsac.com and come in a variety of styles – I already told Jason that I need more covers – it’s like an outfit, right??

My friend, Kelly, also got me a photography gift – a strap for my camera.  Now, I told her this strap will not be able to be used at weddings when I am trying to be inconspicuous however, it’s going to make an appearance at every portrait shoot I do from now on!  I love it!

My aunt and uncle presented me with a gift the day after Christmas, wrapped up in a small bag.  They said it was my grandfather’s, who I never knew.  He died 40 years ago when my mom was only 14.  I have always heard fantastic stories about him so it was exciting to get something that had been his.  Well, I opened the bag up and inside was a camera – HIS camera!  Amazing!

Even though I promise I won’t show up at my next photo shoot with this camera to take your picture, it is an awesome keepsake!

I also received rechargeable batteries, chargers, and many other photography presents – such is the life of a photographer!  It was so exciting!  Thank you to everyone!!!! :)

The whole family!

What a fantastic few days!  Jason and I spent Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday morning with my family in Middletown and then drove down to Virginia to spend Christmas day and evening with Jason’s family … then I drove BACK to Middletown the next morning to meet up with one of my oldest friends in Middletown and take family pictures for her.  I can’t remember when exactly we became friends – sometime in early elementary school, but since then, the years have been filled with many soccer games, sleepovers, and giggling sessions and it was fantastic to catch up with her again!  They had the whole gang over for their annual Christmas get together and it was a great group spanning three generations!  Here are some of my favorites:

Elijah and Ciana

On our way back from our trip to Boston & New York City last weekend, we stopped by my brother’s house to take some pictures of our niece and nephew in their Christmas best!  Elijah is 2 years old and full of energy – pure boy!  And Ciana, going on 2 months old, suprisingly was very willing to get dressed up for the event!
