Everytime I have gone to sit down and write about Thanksgiving, I get side tracked between purchasing my new FANTASTIC nikon and setting up Christmas decorations. So here it is – we started the day with the downtown Turkey Trot in Fredericksburg. It was HUGE this year! Sadly, it was an out and back course so there were only two spots during which to photograph – the beginning (mass chaos) and the finish (still hard to pick people out of the crowds finishing simultaneously). This is my public attempt at apologizing to my husband for not getting any pictures of him because he came up on the finish so fast! He did great – but you’ll have to take my word for it…
Here is a picture of our friend, Todd, finishing …

Next, we went home to get ready for Thanksgiving just in time for almost ALL of our guests to arrive early (and find me still in my running clothes). So it was a chaotic morning but a very fun day! We cooked, ate, and laughed the day away and had a fantastic time. The guys even convinced our aunt and uncle to play the Wii for awhile!

Leia, cheering on Jason at the race!

Thanksgiving evening – beautiful night!

Aunt Mel – showing everyone up on the Wii…

Leia, the model, as always!

Earlier this week, I met up with Susan, Paul, and their children to fit in some pictures for Christmas cards before the holidays begun. We met in the evening at their house, took some pictures around the house, and then jumped in the car to head downtown to take some pictures. Thankfully, the owner of Lee’s Ice Cream gave us full reign of his shop so we twirled around on stools and I even got to jump behind the counter for a bit!
I really enjoyed spending time with Susan, Paul, Madeline, and Henry (and look forward to having a sledding photo shoot with these guys in the winter!)!

This past weekend, a group of us went to run a 10 miler at Virginia Beach. It was a lot of fun and I wish I had strapped my camera to me so I could have taken some pictures to show off. I ended up running 1 hour and 19 minutes which surprised me after having been too busy to train the right way (or at all…).
My husband is going to run the Turkey Trot in Fredericksburg this Thursday so I’ll be sure to take pictures of that event to show off on here!
This week, I have a family photo shoot that I have been looking forward to tomorrow night and then it’s the haul of getting the house ready for Thanksgiving on Thursday! We are going to have 13 of us this year which is really exciting!! Lots of great family time and great food! YUM!

Yesterday, I met a family at Kenmore in Fredericksburg to take some fall family pictures. What a fun group! It was a quick shoot but we ran around the grounds of Kenmore – mostly following the girls who were exploring. What was a cold morning turned out to be a perfect afternoon for a fall shoot!

Yesterday, we met up with Liz and Lenny in Annapolis for their engagement pictures. The thought was to get some on the dock and then walk around the historic district to finish out the shoot. When we all got there, the entire dock was under construction! After an hour of driving around, sneaking through semi-private docks, and having absolutely no luck, we set out on a walk through the historic district to see what we could find. An hour later, I think we were all so excited about our adventure and the interesting buildings and nooks around Annapolis.
We had such a great time! Liz and Lenny - I hope you had a fantastic 3-year anniversary dinner last night! We can’t wait until your wedding!!

I met up with Erica’s family at Mary Washington’s campus a week ago. It was our first real fall day with a cool breeze and leaves swirling around in the air. We were all ready to see the sights on campus and take some pictures. Little did we know that our photo shoot would be cut short. About 15 minutes in, Jonah took a nose dive down a short flight of brick stairs! The good news was that he was not hurt too bad but the bad news was that he skinned his lips so photo shoot – over. We still got a few cute ones:

This past weekend, I went to Erica’s house but this time, to take pictures of her sister, Ginni, and her family. Averi and Tucker’s grandmother had sewn beautiful Christmas outfits for the two of them to wear. The whole photo shoot put me in the Christmas spirit! It’s hard to believe it’s so close!

The whole family…

Look at that strength!!

While in Middletown this past weekend, my husband and I were able to catch a couple of my cousin’s soccer games. Her team played from about 8:30 AM until 5 PM in the tournament! I remember those long days but still can’t imagine how we ever did it! My cousin has super long legs and has quick leg speed so she plays defense. I have hope yet that she will turn into a runner but it’s going to be hard to convince her since she’s so good at soccer!

One of Jessie’s HUGE clears!

What a fun day!!

A week ago, I went to take pictures of Connor & Madison. What models! We had fun trooping around the totally soaked grass in the backyard. Connor is a long time football player and Madison is a long time soccer player so we were able to capture each of them in their uniforms. Thanks, guys! It was fun!
